Can I keep my home if I rent?

If you are current on your rent payments and file for bankruptcy, your landlord will not be notified.  If you are behind on your rent when you file and your landlord has begun eviction proceedings, your landlord can come to the court to have the automatic stay lifted and complete the eviction.  However, in a Chapter 13 you can cure your rent arrearage in a reasonable amount of time through your plan and continue to live there until the end of your lease.
